The Annual Thornbury Rotary Club Swimarathon took place on 1st & 2nd March 2024
Swimarathon 2024 - A HUGE THANK YOU!
This year’s Thornbury Rotary Swimarathon raised over £15,000.
A huge thank you to all the 49 teams who took part, to their supporters and the business sponsors of the event.
The money raised will be used to support charities and good causes.
The primary charities benefiting this year are St Peter’s Hospice and Butterfly Space
The ever-popular Thornbury Rotary Swimarathon will be held on Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd March. The event is free to enter and is open to everyone of all ages who can swim lengths of the pool in relays.
We are keen to hear from people who might be able to represent different sports clubs, companies, charities, schools, Cubs, Brownies, youth groups and other organisations.
Each team can have up to 6 people taking in turns to swim lengths of pool. The Swimarathon is not designed as a race nor an endurance test. It’s just a fun way to raise funds for important causes swimming to the Caribbean sounds of Thornbury’s Panache Steel Band.
There are two main beneficiaries from the 2024 event, St Peter’s Hospice and ButterflySpace
