Thornbury Rotary Duck Race

One of our newest fundraising activity has proved to be great fun for the local community

This year the Duck Race made an appearance at the Tytherington Village Fair, the GWAAC Fundraiser at Lime Kiln Field, Alveston, the Manorbrook School Fair and the Alveston Village Fair, Lime Kiln Field.

These events raised valuable funds for good causes.

If you would like to help with the setting up and running of the fundraisers please get in touch. We always welcome volunteers!

The Duck Race is launched.

The Duck Race is Thornbury Rotary Club’s new fundraising event.

After its first successful outing of this year helping the ‘Friends of Manorbrook School’ raise funds for the school’s playground  facilities Thornbury Rotary’s Duck Race will be at the Thornbury Carnival on Saturday 6th July. Drop by and say hello……and buy a duck to enter the races!

And they’re off

Peter ‘Pudder’ Ball starts a heat of the Duck Race at last year’s Thornbury Carnival.

The Duck Race Draws a Crowd

Lots of people wanted to see the Duck Race in action. It created huge excitement as the ducks made their way down the course.

We have a winner!

Andrew Maxwell fishes out the first duck down the course and declares the winner of this heat. The first 10 ducks down the course make it through to the final.
